Privacy Policy — Search Console Tab Titles

Last updated: July 31, 2026

Search Console Tab Titles is a browser extension that changes the Chrome tab title on Google Search Console pages to include the name of the property you're viewing (for example, "example.com Search Console" instead of "Performance on Search Results").

Data collection

This extension does not collect, store, transmit, or share any data, personal or otherwise. It does not use analytics, does not make any network requests, and does not communicate with any server.

How it works

The extension runs a small script only on pages under search.google.com/search-console/. That script reads the resource_id value already present in the page's URL (the property you have selected in Search Console) and uses it to set the browser tab's title. This happens entirely within your browser — the property name never leaves your device and is not saved anywhere, including by the extension itself.

Permissions

The extension requests access only to https://search.google.com/search-console/*. This is required so the content script can read the page URL and set the tab title. No other host or browser permissions are requested.

Third parties

This extension is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Google. It is an independent tool that modifies how the browser tab title is displayed while you use Google Search Console.
